Bummer

For the past year our local Goodwill stores have been going up on their prices. It didn't bother me too much since I still had two other thrift stores that offered bargain prices; that is until today. In the past this curling iron would have sold for $1 but today it was priced $2; still a good deal when compared to new but it is hard adjusting to higher prices.

  1. Ours would have asked $5 for it.. very seldom we find any bargains here. I could have cried when our 'every things one dollar' Goodwill store closed.

  2. EVERYTHING is going up in price, and that is depressing. What a bummer!

  3. I hate when things like that happen. We have 4 thrift shops in town, The Salvation Army, St. Vincent de Paul, those two have very good prices. The other two are called, Nearly New,(ah..I doubt that) and ....can't think of it at present, there called W....Dot dot dot but those two have ridiculous prices. I sometime think that heck for $2. more I can buy new. So I don't shop there too often.
The best thrift shop around is in this little town about 1/2 hour away, where on the first Saturday of each month all their clothing is on sale for .50 cents @ piece. Now nobody can beat that, and their other items are quite reasonable. Very seldom see anything priced over $2.00 and that's for big items. I love that place. If you look at my blog back on November the 10th you can see some of the bargains I've found there.

Hope that your little shop doesn't continue to go up in price anymore.

  4. I agree with your mom....around here the "used goods" stores charge waaay to much. When my daughter was expecting her 2nd baby, I went in the Other Mothers(or something like that) shop in St. Roberts looking for a double stroller.....They wanted NEW prices for a broken stroller.I think it's more of a consignment shop, but still....I probably won't be going back in there.
