Today I dug out my yarn winder so I could turn my bargain skeins of wool yarn into spools/balls.
I bought this devise almost 20-years ago when I worked for a lady in the Dallas area knitting sweaters.
When the spool/ball is complete it sits in one spot without moving.
Once all the spools/balls were finished I started making small muslin bags to store the yarn in so they stay clean.
The bags are a draw string style so it's easy to use.
So far I really like this new system.
My, aren't you ambitious! Bags for ALL the balls of yarn??
ReplyDeleteI remember when you made those sweaters. Do you have the supplies to continue this?
Ambitious..a good word, Helen. I was trying to think of what to say about this.....I wish I had Patty's time and energy!
ReplyDeleteYou've been busy! What a great idea for your yarn and I love the skirt you made. The chicks are adorable too.....

I love my yarn winder.. their the neatest thing since sliced bread ;) and speaking of bread, I've used bread bags for storing my ball of yarn in but I do like your cloth bag idea.
ReplyDeleteIsn't storing your yarn in bread bags a crummy idea? Er, I mean (cough) Isn't crumbs sometimes left in those bags? ;-)
