Our one and only rooster, given the name Cock-A-Doodle-Do by Elizabeth, is not a very nice rooster. He attacked Elizabeth when she climbed into the chicken yard to retrieve a couple of eggs.
She wants to sell him now since he is so mean but he is a good rooster to the hens so for now we must keep him.
Hi-just found your blog from being over at Texas Mom. I love your orchard!
And yikes! If I was your daughter I would want to sell the rooster, too. My husband was attacked by a rooster when he was little...I think about 4 years old...at his grandmother's house in East Texas. He's 40 now, and it's still a big story around here! lol!
Poor Elizabeth :( Roosters can be very mean but their only trying to protect the hens. Tell her to wear long pants the next time.. that way he can't scratch her.

Poor Elizabeth! Hopefully next time he'll stay away from her.

Owweeee....that looks painful. Don't blame Elizabeth for wanting to sell him! Or maybe chicken and noodle soup? hehe
ReplyDeleteScratch a doodle do! Looks painful. Tell Elizabeth to stand her ground. That rooster needs to know that Elizabeth is big enough to fry his hide!
ReplyDeleteOhh man , sorry about that!!
