Canning season has begun and I am so very excited!
My green bean plants are producing very nicely.
I canned the first batch of green beans with red potatoes; sadly the potatoes did not come from the garden since I decided not to grow potatoes this year.
These were canned early one morning using older Kerr lids I still had; later that day my new Tattler lids arrived in the mail.
I will be picking more green beans later this week and this time I will be using my new lids.
Looking good Patty.. those bean plants look very healthy so probably will be setting on for some time.
ReplyDeleteLooks wonderful.
ReplyDeleteYour beans look great! How many plants did you plant and what variety? Our plants are big and beautiful but are not producing like I would like for them to. We canned one quart of beans just so I could finally use the presser canner my mom bought me 2 years ago!
ReplyDeleteI loved looking through your blog, we used to live in Ft. Worth (6 yrs.) and loved going to all the places you mentioned. The stockyards were our favorite.
Thanks for visiting my blog and commenting on our wild grape jelly. We've lived in Ft. Worth, San Antonio, Corpus Christi and now live between Corpus Christi and Houston and somehow my husband always finds wild grapes. He said when we lived in Ft. Worth he found them near a river in Benbrook. He said to be careful about poision ivy, they seam to like the same areas as grapes. Also, I'll be looking for those jar lids!
