We then had to find suitable storage; thankfully Pat uses an old refrigerator at the warehouse for drinks and snacks but never uses the freezer. All 22 roosters just fit!
It feels good to have this job finished. The next batch of roosters shouldn't need butchering until spring.

NICE job guys!! I was thinking about you this morning, I gor some milo at the store today, the chickens love it! And I have about 5 dozen in my fridge, my father in law didnt eat any, so anyway...!I guess I can bake a lot!
I wish I could have helped you.. I'm a champ at that job.. lots of practice LOL
That is such a good feeling to have done a big job and have something to show for it. The really nice thing is that you know what those "critters" have been fed.
Butchering is one job that I have never had to do. Thank goodness. I have had to pluck, though.
Wow, good job, and like the other poster said, at least you know what your birds ate and how healthy they are!

I forgot to mention:
Doing the math, 22 chickens is the equivalent of $100+ dollars, considering I pay close to $4.50-$5 apiece at the grocery store. Your wages for that day was about $10 an hour.
