Humm...I Wonder

Today as I was making some whole wheat dinner rolls I began wondering...
How whole wheat cinnamon rolls would taste...
So I made just a small pan full...
And they smelled so good and looked so tasty...but they just didn't taste right. Sometimes there is no substitute for white flour!

well, they certainly do look good.

I feel the same way about white flour. I use it for sour dough biscuits and pie crusts, whole wheat just doesn't work for those.

Now we all know. Sorry they didn't out like you'd hoped.

It's good to know. Sometimes sharing our baking failures helps others out. Did you sift your flower first? Just curious if that would work.

Regardless, they look delicious.

I've always preferred white flour for sweets.. whole wheat is not only heavy but it can be bitter

I used white wheat flour on my cinnamon rolls. Did you see my Facebook post? We loved the rolls, but Pamela and I agreed we wished I had used my HARD RED WHEAT that I grind. Go figure! :P
