On Sunday, after church, I went to Walgreen's to buy some peanut butter that was on sale for $1.99 each. If I purchased a total of 8-jars I would also get back $10 in Register Rewards; so my final price on the peanut butter was 74-cents per jar.
Soon after purchasing these I learned about the peanut butter incident and called Skippy; the recording states their peanut butter is not involved in the current incident and not to worry about their products.
Another great deal at Walgreen's this week was Mauna Loa chocolate covered macadamias;

Sounds like a great deal.
I have some of those peanut butter/crackers by the case in my trunk. They're on the recall list, but I'm still eating them. I bought them back when I was going to my medical corp classes to have snacks in my trunk. Been eating them since Nov, and haven't been sick.
I think sometimes the media gets all hyped up on recalls, causing millions of dollars worth of waste and headache. I remember throwing out my tomatoes when they had that scare and come to find out, it wasn't the tomatoes that were bad. What a waste!
I did the Skippy deal too! I had .60cent and .40 cent coupons as well and my Skippy ended up being .27 cents a jar! I can't find the chocolate covered nuts anywhere though :(
