I am pleased with the amount of space they will have for now but hope to make a second pen, on the other side of their house, at a later day.

Safe and Sound
All day yesterday I worked on the chicken pen covering panels with chicken wire and hauling logs to lay along the bottom edge. Then bright and early this morning Pat helped me clip the wing feathers on each chicken so it would not fly over the fence. As we finished up with each chicken we tossed it into the new pen.

You did a great job Patty.. it all looks so good.
Hope you saved those feathers for compost in your garden.
We are shoring up our chicken pen and coop too. Soon soon baby chicks will be living there.
Wow, what a great chicken pen and house. Elizabeth did a good job on the nests, too. Those eggs will be so much easier(not to mention safer) to gather now.
Wow, great job. Now you'll have a more accurate count of eggs too.
