For the past few years we have been making do with a cheap floor lamp while I have been searching for a vintage floor lamp in my price range.
Our cheap lamp has been on its last leg for the past couple of months so I was excited to find a nice vintage lamp today at the thrift store.
The lamp was priced $10. Although a good price for a vintage lamp I wasn't sure I wanted to fork out the money. The lamp is nice but not everything I was looking for. I wanted a heavy base, the base was heavy; I wanted a sturdy pole; the pole was sturdy. I wanted a thick pole; the pole isn't as thick as I wanted; and I wanted a glass shade; the lamp came without a shade. While I was mulling over my requirements a lady at the thrift store came over and told me all the lamps were on sale for $5. My mind was made up!

Nice looking lamp.. I'm sure you'll be able to find a glass shade for it.. maybe in a yard sale.
Guess you were supposed to get this lamp! I like it.
We were at the Salvation Army the other day and I didn't learn that everything was 50% off until we were ringing up my purchases! Which was probably a good thing as I would have bought more stuff! Like your lamp. Nothing like a discount to help you make up your mind!
