When traveling I love to listen to Adventures in Odyssey or books on tape. Dorothy Gilman's Mrs. Pollifax Series is a favorite. It has been awhile since I last listened to these but they are all dusted, organized and ready to be played.
Elizabeth loves to listens to Adventures in Odyssey but she wants to watch shows this time. I love how she is getting to grow up watching the same shows I grew up watching.
Another essential when traveling is snacks. I like to stock pile these when I find good coupon deals. Having snacks on hand really saves money when traveling.
My old ice chest has needed replacing for some time; thankfully we found a very nice one for 3-dollars at a yard sale. Having an ice chest filled with ice and drinks is another money saver; it gets expensive stopping for drinks.

hmm... would be neat to be able to meet you on the highway when you pass thru here, if just to give you a hug and say hello!
I think we saved a ton of money on the trip! Half the fun was eating those picnic sandwiches.
