A Perfect Lunch

Today, for the first time ever, I made homemade tomato soup.
It was very easy and surprisingly very good.
All I did was saute some garlic and onion in olive oil until brown. Next I added some chicken stock and let it simmer until the onion was tender. From here I placed it in the blender, added a can of diced tomatoes and blended until smooth. Once ready it was all put into a pot to simmer. I then added salt and pepper to taste. After the soup cooked for a short bit I decided it was a little too thin so I thickened it with cornstarch.
To go with the soup I made a grilled cheese sandwich using homemade whole wheat bread. Yummy, everything tasted so good!

I love to make homemade tomato soup. It's better than store bought - hands down. Your simple meal looks fabulous. Yummy! I will try it your way some time. I have even done it as simple as tomato juice with some seasoning. I like the title bar on your blog. It looks great. What is the liquid in the large jars?
