The baby chicks are putting on feathers and growing very quickly.They are healthy and eat a lot, we usually fill the feeders twice a day.
This box, a dog carrier, is housing one lone chick. Her wing was bleeding and the other chicks were pecking at it and now half of it is gone. We will keep her in this box until she is healed and then put her back with the others.I love having chickens again and I am looking forward to many fresh eggs.

My goodness, they ARE growing fast! I've been reading that some people are complaining that buying the chicken feed (high prices) is really not making much of a difference in home raised chickens, in comparison to shopping at the supermarket...
