Kitchen Duty

Today I had planned to spend the day in the sewing room but instead I spent the day in the kitchen canning.

It all started this morning when I spotted more crab apple trees in town and stopped to pick some. The tree was so loaded with apples I had enough to make 8 more jars of jelly,
And 9 jars of syrup.
The grocery store had corn on the cob on sale; 8 ears for $1.00. I shucked, steamed and packaged many ears for the freezer.
And lastly I canned 6 jars of salsa. Now I am exhausted but it sure feels good to have accomplished so much in one day.

OH, my my! 8 cobs for a dollar?! What a bargain. I don't think I've ever had crab apple jelly. Does it taste the same as reg apple? Wow!! You are quite the pioneer woman!
