First you will need several pans, I used a large stock pot with lid, a large dish pan, cake pans, a strainer, tongs, a knife, a timer, ice cubes and zip lock bags.
I began water to boil in the stock pot while I set out everything else on the counter.
To my dish pan I added two to three trays of ice cubes.
The corn was then washed and set to the side to wait for the water to begin boiling.

When the water was ready I quickly added several ears of corn, being sure not to add too much at one time.
To blanch the corn it must stay in the stock pot covered for 4-minutes.
When the timer went off I quickly removed each ear of corn;
And placed it into the iced water.
The corn stayed in the iced water for 4-minutes.
This was the first time I had ever prepared corn in this way; I usually just freeze it on the cob. The process was very easy and not time consuming in any way.

When the timer went off again the corn was moved to a strainer.
Now it was time to cut the kernels from the cob.

The kernels slide off the cob with ease.
In no time my pan filled up with tiny corn kernels ready to be put into zip lock bags.This was the first time I had ever prepared corn in this way; I usually just freeze it on the cob. The process was very easy and not time consuming in any way.

Send some corn my way! I was at Walmart's yesterday and the corn/cob in the produce section looked worse than something I'd find in a dumpster. Have you thought of grinding your own cornmeal?
You're going to be eating corn all winter.
I agree with your sis that most of the produce in the stores looks terrible. Mer says its because no one wants to pay the high prices.
